Yesterday’s post was all about wall collages of plates, and today is all about wall collages of pictures (and other objects!). Rather than arranging your pictures in a traditional straight-in-a-row formation, why not mix it up with a more interesting configuration? Or, if you prefer a more symmetrical appearance, try simply adding MORE pictures of the same size in a simple design! Below are a few examples of symmetrical configurations.

This wall collage is quite symmetrical, but uses two different sizes of pictures to create the effect. Photo from Southern Accents.

Creating a focal point can begin with an object or piece of art in a distinct color or shape. Placement of the pictures is another way of creating a focal point.

This wall collage of pictures is centered around the main focal point, a beautiful blue-and-white platter. Photo from House Beautiful.

The different shapes and sizes of these pictures are directed by the one main piece of artwork in the center that draws your eye to the wall. Photo from DIY Ideas.

The black artwork in the middle creates a very distinct focal point for this wall collage. Photo from Damask and Design.

One way to add even more interest in a wall collage is by playing with the matting and frame colors of your pictures.

These frames and mattings are all different, making each piece stand out separately. Photo from Roseland Greene.

The sky is the limit with regard to arranging your wall collage. Place photos closer together or further apart, depending on your preference.
