Ask and you shall receive! A few weeks ago I posted a blog about what is absolutely, quintessentially, southern – and, of course (no questions asked…) it is a perfectly, sugary sweet, ice cold class of sweet tea. I asked ya’ll what else classically deems something “southern” and a good friend of mine sent the sweetest email reminding me about Sweet Teas BFF, Lemonade. I know, summer is gone and we might be looking to a warm glass of apple cider as the weather gets cooler, but girl, We are from the south and as far as I am concerned, I can wear my flip flops all year long! (can I get an amen!)
Diane’s Long, Tall Drink of Lemonade
2 1/2 cups sugar (the real thing, of course)
1 cup water
2 cups lemon juice
1 gallon water
Boil the sugar and one cup of water for 2 minutes. Cool. Add the lemon juice and
one gallon of water. Chill and serve in tall glasses over ice. Garnish with lemon slices.
I just can’t wait to get home and pour myself a glass! (whether it is spike or not will depend on my day! 🙂 A post about lemonade would not be complete without some images of cute lemonade stands!
Now, these ladies are stylin’! They have a future in party planning I think…
