THIS FABULOUS FRIDAY, I HAVE FOUND…
“It’s So Fabulous!” INTERIOR DESIGN BOOK of the Week: This week’s design book selection is one written by Michael Smith, simply called Houses. This book is full of inspirational and lovely photos, but most of all, it is overflowing with design ideas for creating your own fabulous interiors. He provides practical advice, including resource materials, how to pair elements together, and when to edit a room. It is definitely a must-have for anyone embarking upon the process of designing a new space in their home.
“It’s So Fabulous!” FASHION HIGHLIGHT of the Week: According to Vogue, one new accessory that is hot on the fashion scene is an initial cuff bracelet called Anndra Neen ID cuffs, which were created by sisters, Annette and Phoebe Stephens. They explain that their designs were inspired by the esclavas that they wore as children in Mexico City. These bracelets are fashioned from oxidized silver and are handmade to order in Mexico. They arrive in 2 – 4 weeks time, and you can order one for $750 from Barney’s.
“It’s So Fabulous!” KNOTTING HILL INTERIORS GIFT IDEA of the Week: Maybe I have babies on the mind, because Julie, my assistant designer, is ready to pop! However, it just seems lately that there are so many mentions of celebrity babies and baby showers in my world that featuring a selection of Knotting Hill Interiors‘ baby items seems appropriate! So, if you are in search of the perfect baby gift, take a look at a few of the unique and adorable selections we have to offer.
“It’s So Fabulous!” DESIGN SPACE of the Week: My choice for design space of the week is a lovely Boston remodeling project that is currently featured in Traditional Home. Click the link to read the full article with individual descriptions of each room.
“It’s So Fabulous!” “GREEN” MATERIAL of the Week: In honor of this week’s blog series on “green” design, another option for an eco-friendly solid surface material is manufactured by a company called Alkemi. It has 90% recycled content and contains aluminum recycled materials. Not only is it comprised of post-industrial scrap waste, but is also quite attractive. It is available in a variety of colors and leaves no hazardous footprint. Here are a couple of photos to show what it looks like when installed.
If you are a resident of my hometown of Myrtle Beach, SC, or surrounding areas, I highly recommend a local dealer named Myrtle Beach Granite and Marble . You may contact company president, Joe Blackmon, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 843-236-1375 for additional details on this fabulous solid surface!
