Did you notice the extra hour of sun last night? That radiant and glorious extra hour of day that calls forth the absolute necessity to begin to beautify your outdoor surroundings. It’s also necessary to always have a chilled bottle of white wine on the ready to sit outside and put your feet up after work as well, but lets take things one step at a time. You want to have something lovely to look at while you enjoy your beverage, don’t you?
What upgrades are you making to your outdoor space this year? New furniture? A fire place perhaps? The exciting thing about moving your design efforts to the great outdoors is that there is always something to be creating, changing or pruning! And, if you aren’t keeping up with it all, Mother Nature is going to do it anyway!
One of my favorite spring/summer activities is to throw impromptu gatherings on a perfect evening. Grab some grub for the grill, invite a few friends over and fill that cooler with ice! My kids love taking our dinner rituals outside as well. We live on a beautiful golf course and last fall we added a very special addition to our yard, a pool! But until my flowers are all ready, you won’t be seeing any photos yet – so, I thought I would share some of my favorite outdoor areas with a special emphasis on pergolas and patios to inspire you go buy some gas for the grill, get a new pair of gardening gloves and put that Pinot Grigio on ice.
