There is nothing like having fresh flowers in your home, and with spring exploding everywhere I look outside, I simply have to find creative ways to bring all of that amazing freshness inside my home.  The problem I sometimes run into is that the smell of fresh flowers at times can have an adverse affect on me.  Have you ever run into that problem?  I promised myself I would not resign to only having fake flower arrangements in my home.  To truly inspire a fabulous lifestyle, I am determined to find a creative solution to everything!  My answer: Potted Orchids.  Orchids are just about the most beautiful (and most fabulous flower) I have ever seen.  They come in all different colors, they last for eight to ten weeks and no matter where you live, they are relatively easy to find!  Check out my video on Knotting Hill TV all about orchids and some of my fantastic yet simple ways of arranging them to bring an element of style and sophistication to any room.

As I mentioned in the video, that while potted orchids can last for eight to ten weeks, if you have a green thumb (which I admittedly struggle a little bit with this!) you can actually care for your orchids so they bloom again and again.  No fear!  I have found an amazing resource to help you learn all you ever wanted to know about orchids, different types, how to care for them and more!  Everything Orchids makes growing and caring for your orchids easy.

If you need some inspiration on different ways to display your orchids, I located some fabulous images on Pinterest to wake up a little more than your green thumb!

Here is an absolutely simple but lovely way to brighten up a wide window ledge with your potted orchids. I love how there is detail to scale with some of the orchids on books to give them height and a few smooth stones. Very Zen!

Photo: The Enchanted Home The biggest pop of color in this room are these sassy hot pink potted orchids! I love the grandeur of this particular plant as well. It compliments the floor to ceiling book shelves.
