Close your eyes. Think of the most beautiful natural environment you can imagine.

What was it?

A rain-forest dense with exotic foliage and florals?

A stream-fed forest rich with moss-covered trees and enchanting ferns?

Here’s my point…. Whenever you imagined your favorite natural setting, it is highly unlikely that you even once considered if the colors there “matched”. Am I right? The colors in nature all magically work together in effortless combinations. The same is true with interior design. We create a color palette within the parameters of our “setting”, and from there, anything is possible. For example, think of the colors in a rain-forest versus the colors in a desert. One is overflowing with color, whereas the other is more monochromatic with edited pops of color and texture. In other words, each individual environment has unique and varying characteristics, and each operates within the natural confines of that setting.

So, the next time you have a desire to add a new splash of color to your interiors, remember the “natural” perspective on color. What is YOUR home’s environment? Stay within those parameters, and you will be on the road toward a successful outcome.

NOW, GO HAVE AN “It’s So Fabulous!” DAY!
