Do you ever wish you could give a room a facelift without getting rid of what you already have? Or do you have a space in your home that is lacking the proper “zest”?  If so, today’s post may be just for you!

If you are searching for a “green” way to redecorate, or to simply add some much-needed detailing to your decor, try applying decorative fabric tape to your window treatment panels…

This decorative fabric trim takes these plain window treatments from drab to fab! Photo from Southern Living.

Add some movement and dimension with some fabric tape applied in a geometric pattern like this. Photo from DIY Ideas.

….. Or toss pillows….

The yellow pillow has a band of white fabric that was attached with fabric tape and painted with yellow circles. The sky is the limit! Photo from Woman’s Day.

… Or seat cushions!

Pictured in the photo below is a wide, decorative fabric border from D’Kei, Inc. We are so excited to be carrying a beautiful selection of their lovely fabric borders at Knotting Hill Interiors! (And don’t forget! My new retail location is opening in just a few days with a huge array of fabulous new merchandise, including fabrics, gifts, furniture, jewelry, and home accessories!). The border (below) has been easily attached to the sides of the seat cushion to produce this look. Fabric borders can be added to either new or existing pillows (or window panels!) to create interesting detailing.

Here is a close-up of the fabric border.

So, tell me what you think! Do you like these fabric borders? Do you have other suggestions for jazzing up existing toss pillows and window treatments? Share your ideas by posting a comment.
