You have likely seen photos of Swan chairs in popular interior design magazines (Or perhaps, you may have even run across “the real thing” somewhere?). If so, its iconic curves have likely made a lasting impression upon you!

Pictured in the May 2009 issue of House Beautiful, this Swan chair is fresh as ever! Both timeless and modern, the Swan chair has been in existence since 1958, when its legendary designer, Arne Jacobsen, created it for the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen.

SUITE New York has now launched the Pink Swan Project. This fundraiser features the work of nineteen renowned interior designers, architects, and fashion designers who have each customized an iconic Swan chair to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

These chairs are to be displayed at the Gagosian Gallery on Madison Avenue, beginning October 1st, and then moved to SUITE New York’s Flatiron showroom on October 27th for an invitation-only cocktail party. However, the chairs will be available via online auction on charitybuzz.com for the entire month of October. Eighty percent of the proceeds from the chairs sales will go to BCRF.
