Ever wish you were born into the luxurious lifestyle of true royalty?! We may not be able to change our lineage, but we can certainly get a taste of authentic royal digs by booking a stay at Thornbury Castle in South Gloustershire, UK.
The castle was originally designed around 1510 for Edward Stafford, Duke of Buckingham. However, the project was not completed until after Stafford was executed by Henry VIII for treason. After that, the castle soon passed into the possession of the crown.
This original Tudor estate was visited by royalty on multiple occasions, including one visit by Henry VIII and Anne Boelyn. Today, the hotel’s patrons are even given the the opportunity to stay in the very room that the famous couple occupied! Here are some photos of the suites available at the hotel….
Guests of the hotel are also afforded the opportunity to enjoy a stunning view of the oldest Tudor gardens in England, as well as a 500-year-old vineyard, both located within the castle walls. Thornbury castle wine is still produced from these grapes!
From its heavy oak doors to its gigantic fireplaces, Thornbury Castle is truly a piece of history that gives us a taste of royalty!
