Continuing my outdoor obsession this week after gloriously springing forward last weekend (and it has definitely has not hurt that the weather this week’s been absolutely fabulous!) I set out on a mission to share the best outdoor entertaining tips and some of the most creative ways to “wow” your guests at you next poolside cocktail party, afternoon tea or neighborhood bbq.
I did not have to look far! HGTV, Real Simple and my favorite, Southern Living all had great posts on outdoor entertaining ideas.
HGTV shares practical tips for a patio party like making sure to mow the lawn, tidy up the powder rooms in the house and something that I absolutely love doing; highlight your gardens clippings as center pieces on the tables. No need to make a trip to the flower shop in the spring! Look no further than your own back yard!
Real Simple does just that – keeps it really simple and easy to not get too overly stressed about playing hostess to the 20+ guests coming over for dinner in your garden. From making sure there is enough shade during the day to getting creative with evening lighting – these tips are a great reminder that we can make a “wow” statement without a lot of fuss.
Southern Living’s assistant home editor, Todd Childs shares a pleasant video with several great ideas on how to entertain in the great outdoors. Too warm to use your outdoor fireplace? How about lighting a gorgeous family of candles there? Maximize all of your space, including the garage! Soften it up with beautiful fabrics!
I could not stop there. I pursued Pinterest and created a board – Outdoor Entertaining – where I have pinned some of the most creative ideas of the season to really throw the summer soiree that stands out! Come find me there and share some of your ideas in a comment here!
