TOP 3 WAYS TO CHOOSE A COLOR (Part One)

WAY #1 TO CHOOSE A COLOR:

THE COLOR OF YOUR EYES!

Eye colors

I recently realized that that I do something as a designer that I was totally unaware of until a pattern emerged. When I am trying to decide a color scheme from scratch, I am careful to consider [...]

REMODELING KICK-OFF: The Perfect Shade of Blue (Part 3)

As a reminder, here is the Benjamin Moore paint color, Rhine River 689

At night, the wall color I have just added in my foyer is much richer and deeper and looks like a very grayed duck egg.  It is so pretty and different all during the day.  A color such as this – [...]

    Hi Kimberly!
I recently came across your site and love it! I wanted to ask since you’ve seen it in person, the Thom Filicia fabric above, City Square in Wild Rose, would you say that its definitely a coral color rather than rose? My bathroom is blues/greens and I want to do some roman shades in coral and love this fabric but want to be sure its coral and not another shade. Thanks for your time!

I had drapes made for my breakfast room from the City Square fabric (Wild Rose color). Now I want to have some upholstered dining chairs made for the round table (cherry) in this room. What fabric would you suggest? Also up for painting the walls – what color would tie everything together? Thanks!!

REMODELING KICK-OFF: Hand-painted Top Treatment (Part 2)

As I shared yesterday, the FABULOUS Benjamin Moore primary color of my new foyer is called Rhine River 689.  That color will serve as the base for a gorgeous hand-painted top treatment, which the artist will begin this week!  I do not want to call this painting a “mural”, because it definitely is not that. [...]

I PERSONALLY Knew I Needed a Home Makeover When...

Last week, I shared some of my clients’ funny quotes, and this week, I will “tell” on myself, as well. As some of you may recall, I am in the beginning stages of redecorating my own home. Now, this is quite an undertaking considering it has been a number of years, since I have done [...]

Well I certainly do love this one…..you told on yourself! I am right there with you on this one. I have actually done the exact same thing several years back! I could not believe that “I” could not even pick a paint color that worked right off the paint chart – LOL! Also, you’ve heard the old saying about the plumber having leaky faucets himself….well, I seem to never have the time to update the decor for myself. By “time” I mean the time it takes me to make a decision for ME! I am the world’s worst when it comes to deciding what “I” want. Isn’t that funny? I can make solid design decisions for/with clients every day and then when it comes to mine….I can’t decide because I have too many choices! My home is in need of a Makeover too, but at this point I may have to call in a designer to get my own done! How funny is that? Your home is “oh so FAB”, by the way!

I hope to be able to meet you soon in “real life” too. I feel as if I know you already as well! Maybe we can even sneak in a lunch and share some tips and stories about the “life of interior designers”. I’ll be sure to let you know when I am planning to be back that way. Ta-Ta for now!

Susan, thank you for making me feel like I am not alone in my struggle! Very good analogy about the plumber and the leaky faucets! So true!

I will be thrilled to meet you next time you are here! So looking forward to it!
