Mantels to headboards is a great way to recycle home materials for a new use. You can make use of salvaged materials for art too. A friend of mine used a piece like the one in the photo from Better Homes & Gardens. Worn and old he sanded it down to expose the wood and carved cartoon characters for his boy’s room.
