It is official! I am leaving this Fabulous Friday (today!) for Scotland… Yes, even in spite of the Icelandic, volcanic ash! Ugh! I so hate (am scared, actually!) to fly! However, much awaited, my little boy (age 10) [...] A vast fortress, Burg Rheinfels, dominates the landscape in the German town of St. Goar. For hundreds of years, the medieval fortress stood watch over the Rhine crossing. These mesmerizing ruins provide the dazzling backdrop for a family-run, 4-star hotel, Hotel Schloss Rheinfels, residing within in the castle ruins.
