Incorporating Your Blue and White Collection into your Interior Design

Collections can be a wonderful way of preserving memories. For many of my South Carolina Interior Design clients, I suggest starting a collection for themselves but also, one for each of their children. While collections are important, displaying the collection artfully is what matters [...]

  • I feel like today is Blue and White day. Another blog I follow posted about why she loves blue and white (www.theenchantedhome.blogspot.com). I absolutely love all things blue and white!! Thanks for sharing. My favorite things to collect are plates, silver, and crystal!!

Your collection is beautiful, but what struck me the most was the way you incorporated this historic tradition of your collection passing it through the family with its use in your daughter’s wedding. The use of the lilies is so perfect with the china and you have a very smart and lucky daughter that clearly loves the tradition of her family. A great way to put a very personal touch on a wedding that is so often missing in today’s weddings. Congratulations to you both. Well Done!

Have missed your blog posts, so happy to see you back. This was a lovely post….your daughter’s wedding looked lovely and so nice to incorporate your pieces. I have collected many things over the years…..eggplates, vintage globes, hand thrown pottery, face jugs, folk art. My taste is different from yours, but collecting is fun no matter what one collects wouldn’t you agree? I always enjoy your blog.

Thank you Patty. I have missed blogging, too. It has been an incredibly busy time for me. Our new location has quadrupled my business and I am just now coming up for air. I am back on a regular blogging schedule though and you will be hearing lots more from me! Thank you for sticking with me and thank you for reading. And yes, collecting is fun no matter what you collect! I love eggplates!!!!! XO, Kimberly

Happy Fourth Of July!

Do you know the “official” colors of the American flag? Well, yes, we all know they are red, white, and blue… But according to the Pantone website, the specific colors for our great American flag are Pantone 193 C (red), and the Pantone 282 C (blue). However, their website notes that blues 281 C and [...]

A Fun Tool for Choosing Paint Color: HB Paintbrush

My last several blog posts have been all about how to choose a color and each of the critical components involved with doing so. As I have mentioned before, avoiding the pitfalls of selecting the wrong colors involves much more than simply trekking down to the hardware store and picking out your favorite paint chips. [...]

  • I have a friend that spends 6 months out of the year in China. He has brought over several trunk loads of blue and white Chinese pottery. It’s supposed to be ancient, but it’s almost impossible to tell the copies from the real thing. You’d probably enjoy looking at it sometime…:-)

  • Loved all of the Chritsmas tips and pictures. The 5 R’s were great and helpful in my plan to declutter and simplify. Started with the closets and old Christmas decorations and plan to move on to the dining room!

  • Debbie Kilgour

Simplify and declutter are two words that need to be in my vocabulary this year! It is hard to believe I have been in this house for twenty years already. Just when you think it is all done, I feel like it’s time to start all over again! I would like to simplify with neutrals in every room and decorate with timeless pieces. Then insert pops of color with pieces that make me happy. That’s the plan at least, although it may take 20 more years! Love the blog…thanks!

  • AS I approach the big 50 this year, my goal is to de-clutter and go to a more simple life-style. My son is now in collage and doesn’t live at home any longer. My home is just to full of items that I no longer need. My home has been cluttered and kid friendly for 24 years. Now, I think it’s time to loose the stuff and upgrade to adult-hood. lol I love to read your bolg and the photo’s great.

When it comes to embellishing a Christmas tree, anything goes! Although red and green are still traditional color favorites for many, the theme of a tree can vary from being “woodsy”, to whimsical, to wild! If you are in search of some holiday inspiration, take a look at these photos of [...]
