NATURAL INSPIRATION: In the Garden (Part 2)

A beautiful garden is another place in which I find it natural to be inspired! Fragrant, home-grown flowers, chipper singing birds, and winding trellis vines, all contribute to the spectacular serenity that is often found in a place such as this. Perhaps, that is the reason that there are so many fabulous design options available [...]

Kimberly, this is a bit off the subject (although I LOVE the garden indoors theme), but I just saw on the news that the huge amateur golf tournament will be at Pine Lakes country club, the world famous place YOU renovated & redecorated. Sports Illustrated and other big shots are covering the event. Does this mean that we’ll finally get to see your renovation of this famous historic place?? I’d love to see this project covered in your blog someday!

You know the World Am was the large golf tournament whose 19th Hole parties I decorated and produced for 20 years? I have sort of lost touch. Are they having the 9th hole at Pine Lakes? You are right, I should feature this renovation on my blog. Will do and soon! Thanks, again, for commenting, Summer!

Kimberly, I appreciate you for creating such a content-rich blog! (1 of my 5 compliments today!)Seriously, you bring us beauty and know-how in such a lively, fun way. I love the idea of wallpapering only 1 wall or some small space. Easy on the budget while making a lovely statement.

  • I have to check out this book. It sounds amazing! And I am so in love with wallpaper right now!

Hi Kimberly! I haven’t been on here in a few weeks, but I decided I HAD to stop and say LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! What great info you gave on the wallpaper series. I love wallpaper too and I do see it is making a “come back” in our world of interior design! Your series on this makes it “oh so FAB ” so much that I’m sure it will inspire many of your readers. Way to go!!!

I hope you are doing well and I will try and read a little more often than I have here recently………..You inspire me!!

    Have a “FABULOUS” day!!!

Kimberly, the basketweave would be perfect for my cottage-style home. But can wallpaper be put over bead board (I think that’s what it’s called) — where there are shallow “channels” between the panels? In other words, does a wall have to be solid to take wallpaper?

    • Kimberly Grigg

Yes, it can, Summer! However, you must line the walls first with a wallpaper liner. The thickness of the paper matters, too. A professional installer can best advise you. I wallpapered over paneling successfully with a liner and a fairly thick paper (which the the basketweave paper is)… and it was FABULOUS! Thanks for your question!
