  • Thank you so much for the mention, and for directing me to both your blog and some other great blogs this weekend! Sorry you are having bad weather – we are having the most glorious weekend here in Atlanta. I have not seen the sky so crisp and blue in many months, and it is dipping into the 50s at night! Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. I am planning a few more kitchen posts over the next few weeks, as we will be finalizing the cabinet design in mid September.

You are most welcome! Oh, and by the way, now I truly am envious! Maybe we will be lucky enough to get some of that delicious weather your’re having over here on the Grand Strand coast. Fingers crossed! I will be eagerly awaiting your future kitchen blogs…. your photos were divine! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  • Thanks so much for the mention (even my nephew got in this post :) ! And for this lovely article, I’ll have to check out the others I’ve missed!

Darling you ARE fabulous. Thanks for the shout out! Don’t know if you’d be interested but I am getting together some fellow bloggers for a design challenge. My goal is to get five or so bloggers together to do a post on budget design, and what some of the top designers in the blogosphere would do with a limited budget. I think readers will really find this helpful, and it will help people connect with blogs they may not know about. I have six bloggers on board so far, would love to have you! Let me know

Here is a photo from earlier in the week showing [...]

My Home Renovation Update: The Foyer

As promised, I am posting some new pictures of my home renovation in this week’s blogs. Today’s photos are taken of my main foyer entrance. Although it is still not completely finished, you can certainly see the progress that has been made since a few weeks ago, when I had just chosen the paint color.

STYLE ME UP! (Part 3): Elements of Contemporary Style Design

Contemporary design is quite the opposite, in many ways, from the relaxed and casual “feel” of cottage style decor. Although both styles contain natural components as part of their criteria, contemporary styling often utilizes more glass and metals, such as stainless steel, to create sophisticated, refined spaces.  Sleek furniture with clean lines is also a [...]

Kimberly, cottage style makes me feel relaxed and nurtured — even when just looking at photos of the cottage style! It seems easier to incorporate nostalgic pieces into cottage style than in, say, contemporary style interiors. Your informative captions make me appreciate All the styles, but my heart belongs to the cottage style!

STYLE ME UP! (Part 2): Elements of Cottage Style

There are many elements of cottage style that are similar to Country French, and sometimes, they do cross over one another (as is the case with many design styles). Both styles utilize natural elements, such as antique wood and florals, to add warmth to a space. In addition, both blend the use of old and [...]
