Coastal Interior Design (Part One): The Giant Clam Shell

Each year, as summer comes to a close, I pause to reflect upon how truly amazing it is to live in a seaside community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Although there is not always time in my busy schedule to take long walks on the beach each day,  just the smell of the salty air and the smooth ocean breezes are enough to remind me of  infinite seaside wonders.

The giant clam shell is one coastal element that is extremely versatile in the world of interior design. Take a look at some ways in which these mammoth beauties are able to be incorporated and displayed.

  • My fav is the one in the shower. I have a good sized one, but now, naturally I want at least 5. A friend has 2 very large ones and she has used them at opposite ends of a dinner table to serve shrimp buffet-style at parties.
